In this seminar, Richard Skeggs, senior data manager at the Business and Local Government Data Research Centre will be discussing mining data from online sources. Using practical examples and demonstrations Richard will introduce delegates to various methods for mining data using the software R.

The seminar will show examples of the types of mining methods that can be used to explore data from online sources such as Twitter and other sources, using APIs or scripts.

This seminar is open to all but a working knowledge of R would be beneficial.
