Abhijit Sengupta recently led a workshop on Energy Systems Modelling in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Abhijit Sengupta was recently invited to give a talk in a workshop on Agent-Based Modelling at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC). The event was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of the KAPSARC Energy Systems Modelling workshops. He presented one the working papers of the Business and Local Government Centre which focuses on the Dynamics of Open Innovation Systems and specifically the comparison with patenting.
Abhijit presented his research alongside fellow experts about how government intervention can provide a supporting role in energy systems and economies. Models that can be used to analyse and formulate energy policies were discussed along with coal market interaction and the challenges and opportunities that the Gulf Cooperation Council are currently facing. The workshop highlighted the importance of models in policy making while also emphasising the significance of harmonisation between creators and consumers of models.
